The product test for herpes-sensitive lips
We were looking for 100 product testers in the spring, we found 500 and there would have been even more. The enormous response showed us how present the problem of herpes-sensitive lips is and that optimal care is so important. Infections with the herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) are widespread worldwide. The virus is responsible for most cases of herpes on the face and lips.
A recent study* and the results of our product test show how effectively Spirulina platensis ingredients can be used to prevent cold sores:
- Over 85% confirm very good experiences with the application and will continue to use Spirularin HS in the future
- Over 53% applied it regularly to care for their lips and prevent cold sores
- Supplementary feedback shows us that we have addressed the needs and concerns of users correctly with Spirularin HS. And our testers were very precise:
“A very good product. There are actually no suggestions for improvement that I could make! I will continue to use Spirularin HS and get a pack for my vacation! It is also a product that can be used very well for prevention! Thank you for letting me take part in the test and convincing me of its effectiveness! Stay the way you are!”

“I felt a tingling sensation on my lower lip in the morning, was at work all day and was only able to apply the cream in the evening. It prevented blisters from forming in the first place! After 1-2 days the “herpes” (it wasn’t a real one) was gone. So my tip: apply the cream as soon as you feel the first tingling sensation. Thanks again for the sample!”

“My son (3) had a sore on his mouth that we had been treating with various things for weeks but nothing had worked. I then tried Spirularin HS because he had always seen me using it. You could literally see the healing process and within a few days it was completely healed. We are really thrilled. You have great soft lips and it feels great.”
We will of course integrate the detailed feedback, wishes and preferences into our ongoing product development. Because it remains exciting, this summer we will be adding great new products that will particularly appeal to the ladies 🙂 And your lips will continue to be the focus here, both visually and in terms of care…

*Together with the Dermatologikum Hamburg and the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF), researchers at the Heinrich Pette Institute (HPI) have succeeded in demonstrating the efficacy of the polysaccharide calcium spirulan (Ca-SP) from the blue-green algae Spirulina platensis against the herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). An extract of the blue-green algae and in particular the polysaccharide Ca-SP contained therein prevent the attachment of HSV-1 to human keratinocytes. The polysaccharide Ca-SP is also effective against other herpes viruses. The results can be read in the “Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology”.
